Christine Kühne - Centre for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE)

With the establishment of CK-CARE (Christine Kühne - Centre for Allergy Research and Education) in Davos, Munich, and St. Gallen in 2009, one of Europe’s largest private initiatives in the field of allergology was launched. The initiative’s main pillars are a scientific network of highly qualified researchers and the training of medical professionals.

Renowned research teams are working on improved diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of allergy-affected patients. CK-CARE is specialised on atopic dermatitis. According to studies, neurodermatitis is one of the most common chronic inflammatory skin diseases. Atopic dermatitis damages the skin barrier and is therefore considered an underlying disease of future allergies to environmental factors such as pollen, food, and house dust mites.

Since 2017, CK-CARE has been building up one of the largest international database and biobank on neurodermitis and allergies. Biological data is analysed to get a better understanding of neurodermitis, develop therapies and prevention measures, and thus mitigate future allergies.

CK-CARE also provides interactive learning opportunities for healthcare professionals to share knowledge. As partner of the medicine campus which opened its doors in 2019, CK-CARE supports a unique centre for research, therapy, and education in the fields of allergology, asthma, and cardiology in cooperation with SIAF (Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research), HGK Davos (Hochgebirgsklinik Davos), Cardio-CARE AG and Davos BioSciences AG.
